Why is Halloween Celebrated?

Halloween is celebrated on the twilight of October 31st, the evening beforehand the Christian feast of All Saint’s Day. The Celts/the peoples of Iron Age or Medieval Europe believed that at the end of harvest season, Samhain, the lord of death becomes powerful and overpowers the sun god. Samhain brings together all the evil spirits who had died in the past year and enable them to return home to visit the living.

These days Halloween is celebrated as the festival of fun! Children dress up themselves as monsters, witches or ghosts. Let’s celebrate the festival which straddling the line between life and death, fall and winter and plenty and paucity. Throw a party on or around this day, make festival cards to invite your friends.
